Gammon was engaged to construct Phase II of the temporary quarantine facilities at Penny’s Bay in Lantau Island within a 90-day contract period, comprising over 700 habitable units from 44 houses. Gammon needed a trusted partner with proven track record in provision of integrated smart construction and ELV systems to ensure workplace safety and monitor the progress of this fast-track construction project.
Gammon entrusted PCCW Solutions to design and supply comprehensive ELV systems and ICT network for Phase II of the temporary quarantine facilities at Penny’s Bay, and to support building a Smart Control Centre for onsite management. PCCW Solutions implemented robust network infrastructure supporting 5G to ensure instant responses and transmission of information to the servers, with the latest Wi-Fi 6 protocol covering the entire working area.
The solution supports smart construction with various innovative applications for workplace safety. Rapid deployment of comprehensive ELV systems facilitates fast-track construction and achieves efficient site coordination and effective quality management.
